“Open Education Leading University Education Reform”
~Learning from the most advance cases in the world

While “globalization” or “innovation” are listed as keywords of university education reform, “Open Education” draws attention as a clue to take the initiatives to these challenges.

“Open Education” environments are prepared at universities in Japan as well, and each university offers various content such as OCW (OpenCourseware) and MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), depending on their tasks and purposes. However, it is an urgent issue to consider how to take advantage of those resources for the improvement of student learning and university education reform.

We have invited board members of the Open Education Consortium (OEC) from the U.S.A and France, who have been leading the Open Education movement, to introduce the most advanced approach to Open Education. We will deepen our discussion in order to get hints about Open Education by comparison of the most advanced approaches to Open Education with the current situation in FD and education reform in Japan.
*Open Education Consortium is the former OpenCourseWare Consortium.
